Based in NJ, John LaRatta has devoted his professional life to family medicine, physician leadership, and medical education. He combines decades of frontline clinical experience with influential service in organized medicine, shaping policy and strengthening the osteopathic community at both the state and national levels. John LaRatta’s work reflects a commitment to accessible, high-quality healthcare and the advancement of the profession in and out of NJ.
John LaRatta earned his DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his residency training in family medicine through programs affiliated with PCOM, including City Avenue Hospital and Saint Agnes Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. LaRatta has contributed to medical education. Since March 2021, he has served as an assistant professor at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. In this role, he mentors and teaches future physicians, helping shape the next generation of osteopathic practitioners. His transition into academic medicine demonstrates his dedication to sustaining high standards of training and professional excellence. He has also contributed his expertise to institutional leadership through service on the Virtua Health System Credentialing Committee and Medical Executive Committee.
